Welcome to The Cotton Loft
A small, comfortably modern holiday studio, appealing to couples and single guests, looking for peace and quiet in a central village location, with excellent opportunities to get outdoors and active in the surrounding countryside of the beautiful Peak District National Park. With fabulous walks from the doorstep, it is an ideal base for a short break to explore the natural environment and fascinating history that makes up this first of Britain's National Parks. Whether you are a dedicated hiker or fair-weather stroller, a serious cyclist or relaxed biker, a museum and heritage enthusiast, or are passionate about nature and wildlife, there truly is something for everyone in the Peak District National Park.
The Cotton Loft, winner of the 'Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2018', is located in the centre of the traditional Derbyshire village of Litton, described as 'a little gem of a White Peak village, set in glorious countryside'. Just a short stroll up the road is the Red Lion, a fine old inn serving real ales and a good choice of food. The community-run village shop stocks all your essentials, and with its pretty greens, old stocks and charming cottages, Litton evokes the true essence of the Peak District.
The studio is situated above and to the rear of the new detached limestone garage, next to the owners' house. Downstairs is the mini kitchenette area and adjacent shower room, and the living/sleeping area is upstairs via 11 steps. Sleeping arrangements are on the space-saving sofa, which converts easily into the double sofa-bed, sleeping 2 - it's designed to be used as the sofa during the day/evening, and switches easily to the bed at night and vice versa. There is a TV/DVD combi and free wi-fi for your use. All bedding, towels, crockery and cutlery are supplied, and there is off-the-road parking space for one car and secure storage for bikes, walking, caving and climbing equipment if required.
Tideswell is 1 mile away, within walking distance, and has a Co-op, ATM, doctors surgery, chemist, post-office, several lovely cafes/bistros, and 4 pubs. Bakewell market town is 7 miles and the Spa town of Buxton is 9 miles. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both within 10 miles, and Chesterfield, with it’s M1 links, Sheffield and Manchester are all within easy reach. Cycle hire is available a short car journey away, and for thrill-seekers Alton Towers is just 27 miles away.
